2016 GRANTS AWARDED

2016 GRANTS AWARDED:

Recently, the PVHS Foundation sponsored a spectacular Decades concert in the Center for the Arts.  The popular music group has garnered fame throughout California.  They brought their show to PV to help with the annual Foundation Grant program.  Combining the shows profits with the generous givers of the Annie B’s campaign, we were able to grant 11 requests by PV staff for classroom, school-wide equipment and supplies not otherwise funded.

This year, The Pleasant Valley High School Foundation is pleased to announce that $6090 in grants has been awarded to Pleasant Valley High School:

  • Tech equipment to allow projection from student IPads to screen for all to interact
  • 2 enclosed bulletin broads for Library quad

President Dodds' Greeting Letter

Greetings Fellow Viking Supporters!

It is with great honor that I assume my new position as President of the Pleasant Valley High School Foundation. I look forward to continuing the standard of leadership and stewardship set by Dan Beadle during his tenure as President. In fact, both Dan and Linda have been gracious servants to the Viking community for decades. Their spirit of selflessness is second-to-none! It is humbling to be in such company.

As we move forward into this new season, I think it is important to reflect on the role of the Foundation. The Pleasant Valley High School Foundation funds programs that allow PV students to achieve excellence in their academic, creative and social development. We fund grants that provide innovative programs designed to enrich Pleasant Valley’s curriculum. Simply stated, we are here to help the Viking community. We raise money in order to give it away so that the student-experience at P.V. promotes life skills and helps build lifetime memories.

To that end, I should share one of my favorite quotes by one of the history’s great leaders, Winston Churchill. “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” For many of us, giving may not come naturally. Our greatest resource as individuals is time. If you have a servant’s heart, we are looking for you. We are looking for you to give your time in order to strengthen the Viking Community. If your time is in short supply, as is often the case, please consider opening your check book to help enrich a community which has provided such a solid foundation for so many of us.

I look forward to the opportunity of sharing my passion for Pleasant Valley High School.

Gratefully,

Dorian A. Dodds, DDS

PVHS Foundation raises over $17,000 for students

The Pleasant Valley High School Foundation raised over $17,000 at its 6th Annual Viking Pride Night. Income from the event will fund grants for programs at PV HIGH SCHOOL as well as build the foundation’s endowment fund. Since 2007, PVHSF has funded over $50,000 in grants to PVHS.
