Message from Foundation President, Dan Beadle

Year after year the people of Chico prove they care about their schools. This year the Pleasant Valley High School Foundation put on its 7th annual Viking Pride Night.  Due to the efforts and contributions of a multitude of people and businesses in the Chico area, we were able to raise over $25,000 for PVHS.

A fourth of that money will go directly into our grant program, which annually funds over a dozen or more grants for both academic and vocational programs. The Foundation has given over $60,000 in grant money in the seven years we have been in existence. During those years we've also been able to build an Endowment Fund for future needs at the high school.  Our current fund has well over $100,000 in it, with a goal of reaching over One Million dollars.

Also, that night, we honored two distinguished alumni: Eric Blofsky (’04) and Ryan Roth Gallo (’92) for their ongoing support of PV and many contributions to society in general.

In an attempt at reaching our Endowment Fund goal, we have initiated a Million Dollar Campaign in the hopes of having over 500 people and groups donate $2000 over the next two years.

Currently we are also developing a Legacy Walkway at the school where people and organizations can purchase a brick to be set into the walkway. This money will also be used to meet the immediate and future needs of PV's students. Information on how to purchase a brick can be found on our support page, or by picking up a brochure in the school office.

Tax–deductible contributions to the Foundation may also be made on-line.

Again, we wish to thank the entire Chico community for helping us to build our children’s future.

Dan Beadle, Board President
