Ryan Roth Gallo – Class of 1992

Ryan Roth Gallo

While at PVHS, Ryan was active in clubs, sports and academics, being one of the first IB candidates and an award-winning member of the highly successful Aca Deca Team.

After graduating PVHS in 1992, Ryan attended Stanford University, where she played Division I field hockey and was a member of the Chi Omega fraternity. She graduated in ‘96 with a BA in Classical Studies.

Ryan earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in ‘99, where she served as Article Editor for the Law Review. Ryan then moved to Los Angeles, where she practiced law in the litigation department of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, representing corporations and individuals in a variety of litigation matters. In 2002, Ryan relocated to the Bay Area, where she continued to practice litigation in Paul Hastings' San Francisco office.

Eric Blofsky – Class of 2004

Eric Blofsky

Eric Blofsky attended both Bidwell Junior High and Pleasant Valley High Schools, graduating from PVHS in 2004. Eric was extremely active in student government, Young Life and played on the volleyball team all four years. After graduation, Eric attended CSU Chico where he majored in Political Science. While attending CSUC, Eric continued on with his earlier interests, spending a few years coaching the boys’ volleyball teams at PVHS and working with Young Life and The Bidwell Presbyterian Church youth organization.

Shortly after graduating from CSUC, Eric married his lovely wife, Sarah. In his short tenure since graduation, Eric has continued as a strong leader in all respects.

Eric joined Asset Management Group in January 2008 pursuing retirement plans as his area of focus. He cemented this focus by founding (k)ornerstone 401(k) Services in 2011 with William Rich after they recognized the need for specialists in the retirement plan industry. Today, (k)ornerstone is one of the premier retirement plan consulting firms in the North State.

Alicia Mercer Barr – Class of 1991

Alicia attended Bidwell Junior High School and Pleasant Valley High School, where she was an honor roll student and active in Student Government. She was a 3–sport athlete at PV, garnering multiple All–League accolades in cross country, basketball and track and field. After graduating in 1991, Alicia attended Cal Poly SLO as an Aeronautical Engineering major. She also continued her pursuits in track and field, garnering an All–Conference award in the 400m hurdles while at Cal Poly.

The summer after her freshman year, she came back to Chico to visit and quickly realized how much she missed the town and sense of community. By the end of summer, her mind was set, and she transferred to CSU, Chico as a Mechanical Engineer. While attending CSUC, Alicia became very active with the student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and she earned three more All Conference titles in the 400m hurdles. She graduated from CSUC in 1996 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Organizational Communications. CSUC recognized her achievements by awarding her the College of Engineering Outstanding Student Award and the CSUC Outstanding Student Leader Award.

Norm Rosene – Class of 1975

Norm graduated from Bidwell Junior High in 1972 and Pleasant Valley High School in 1975. While at PV, he participated in football all three years, as well as junior varsity basketball and golf. As a senior, Norm was the recipient of the Lion’s Club Outstanding Science Student Award, NROTC Scholarship, and was a California Scholarship Federation member.

After graduating from PV, Norm attended UC Davis. He played varsity lacrosse during his tenure there, twice being selected to play on the California Collegiate All–Star team. He graduated with honors with a B.S. in Zoology and then continued his education at UC Davis, receiving a master’s of science degree in Physiology in 1981. He then moved on to the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry, graduating in 1985 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. His diligence and hard work placed him as a finalist in the Block Drug Company Outstanding Essay Award and earned him the Eissmann Restorative Dentistry Award.
