Stacey Jones Dunn attended both Bidwell Jr. and PVHS, graduating from PV in 1990. While at PVHS, she was extremely active in a variety of sports, lettering in volleyball, skiing and track, (specifically pole vaulting.) In addition, she served as president of the Girls Block Association, she was a Life Member of CSF, and took on the difficult position of editor of the yearbook, the Valkyrie. Tonight, she is honoring Patricia Scully posthumously, one of her teachers (English) who left a lasting impression on her.
After graduation, Stacey attended UC Davis to study English Literature, spending her last year in the UC Education Abroad Program at the University of Birmingham, England. She graduated with her degree in 1994.
A degree in English literature is wonderful but not overly marketable. Stacey started out as a buyer for a chain of sporting goods stores in the Bay Area before returning to Davis in 1999. At that time, Stacey bought her first home, and it was then that she began to find her niche: Real Estate Development. From 2004 to present, Stacey has renovated and sold over 70 single family homes. And she doesn’t just relegate all of the hard labor to others….she knows how to, and actually does, much the renovating herself! With that first house in Davis, she took on remodeling it by reading books and articles on how to do it yourself….no Google or YouTube in those days. In 2005 she returned to Chico and began “Flipping Chico.” Stacey is known to many as the Flipper Chick, and she has truly earned that title.
In addition to her work, Stacey is extremely active in the community. She was a founding member of the PVHS Foundation (2008-2013), she has been a Silver Dollar Fair Board Director from 2005 to present, serving as Vice President in 2010 and 2019, and also as President in 2011 and 2012. Additionally, she was a board member of the Chico Community Scholarship Association from 2012-2017.
Flipping homes is not Stacey’s only talent. She is the proud mother of three children: Jack, 16, at PVHS; Kate, 14, at Bidwell Jr.; and Gage, 11, at Shasta Elementary. She is married to Keith Dunn, PVHS Class of ’89. In her free time, Stacey is still an avid skier, she loves to travel, and she and her family enjoy the outdoors, especially camping and rafting.
